Insurance and Pricing
Insurance and Pricing
What we accept, what things cost, and how we make sure you know before you commit rather than after.
Optical pricing is opaque almost everywhere, and that is not an accident. It makes comparison hard and it makes upselling easy. We would rather publish honest ranges and explain what moves the number.

Some plans, please call to verify
We accept most vision and medical insurance plans. Call us with your plan details and we will verify your coverage before your visit.
What things cost
Starting-from figures. What moves them is lens material and index, coatings, lens design, and how much your plan contributes.
| Service | From | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Comprehensive eye exam | $95 | Often covered in full by a vision plan. We verify before your visit. |
| Contact lens exam and fitting, standard | $75 | In addition to the eye exam. Covers fitting, trial lenses and follow-up. |
| Contact lens fitting, specialty or toric | $150 | For astigmatism, multifocal and harder-to-fit eyes. |
| Scleral lens fitting | $1,200 | Per eye, including diagnostic fitting, custom lens and all refinement visits. Frequently covered as medically necessary. |
| Orthokeratology (Invisalens) programme | $1,800 | Both eyes, including custom lenses, fitting and the first year of follow-up. |
| Myopia management programme | $1,200 | Per year. Varies by treatment. Atropine is the least expensive option. |
| Optomap retinal imaging | $39 | Some plans cover it, particularly for medical indications. |
| Dry eye evaluation | $120 | Usually bills to medical insurance rather than a vision plan. |
| Single vision lenses | $99 | Depends on material, index and coatings. |
| Progressive lenses | $249 | Digitally surfaced designs cost more and are usually worth it. |
| Frames | $129 | Designer frames sit higher. Most vision plans include a frame allowance. |
Prices shown before insurance. Your plan may cover all or part of any of these. We verify and tell you your actual out-of-pocket cost before you commit.

Insurance and pricing questions
Do you take my insurance?
We work with VSP, EyeMed, Avesis, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Aetna, Cigna and various other health plans. Coverage varies considerably between plans even within the same carrier, so call us with your details and we will verify your specific benefits before your appointment.
What is the difference between vision and medical insurance?
A vision plan covers routine eye examinations and an allowance toward glasses or contacts. Medical insurance covers the diagnosis and treatment of disease. If you come for a routine exam and we find glaucoma, the glaucoma monitoring afterward is a medical service and bills to medical insurance. That is how the coverage is structured rather than a choice we make.
Why are your prices ranges rather than fixed?
Because the honest answer depends on your prescription, the lens material and design you need, and what your plan covers. Publishing a single number would mean either quoting the cheapest possible case or the most expensive. We give you an exact written cost before anything is ordered.
Do you offer payment plans?
Talk to us. For larger items such as scleral lens fitting or a myopia management programme we can usually work something out. We would rather find a way than have someone go without care they need.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Eye exams, glasses, contact lenses and most of what we do are eligible HSA and FSA expenses.
What if I have no insurance?
Plenty of our patients do not, and we will tell you the cost of everything up front. Ask us about the bundles below, which are the most economical way to combine an exam and eyewear.
Do you bill my insurance directly?
For in-network plans, yes. For out-of-network plans we provide the documentation you need to claim reimbursement, and we tell you in advance which applies to you.
Not sure what your plan covers?
Call us with your insurance details and we will verify your benefits before you book. It takes a few minutes and it means no surprises.
